
Hello, Kaaba Mental Therapy Community!
As we approach the end of 2025, let's take a moment to reflect on the impactful initiatives and events we've accomplished together. This year has been remarkable, showcasing our dedication, hard work, and resilience.
We’ve initiated and implemented various projects, inspiring our teams and raising awareness in the community. Our efforts in enhancing mental health support and fostering overall well-being demonstrate our unwavering commitment.
STAFF & OFFICE
Major achievement we got 2025 was having our space and office as Kaaba worked 1 year remotely and online, and increasing our staff from 3 to 8 restless and powerful team.
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
Mental health awareness is a major focus for us at Kaaba. We promote awareness daily, weekly, and monthly through our social media platforms and offline at our office.
Some activities include daily affirmation, weekly checkup, recorded audio, and simple posters, we aim to increase awareness and to got a community that accepts mental health.
MENTAL HEALTH PROJECTS
Implemented different projects and immature more due to little access to deliver the community, major projects we implemented including;
1. Let's Unite Hooyo (Hooyo aan Midawno)- 5 week project exclusively for new mothers.
2. Mental health Program cohorts- 12-week projects for individuals who needs to advocate Mh.
3. Haween Kaaba IDPs- 5-week project for mothers living in IDPs camp
4. Female Youth Conference- Monthly Projects exclusively for young female youth to discuss and share experience.
5. You're not Alone- 2 phase projects (Online & In-person) focuses on Postpartum Mh & Community Mh.
6. Maandhowr Project- 3 different phases with a Big project overall 1000 benefited this project.
7. Healing through journaling- 30- consecutive journaling aimed to heal people living with childhood and other traumas.
8. 16-day of Activism- in person, offline and online projects increasing the awareness and educating people in violence and how to end.
9. Panel discussion- project we need to met community and discuss a community mental health problems.
WEBINARS
In 2025, we hosted more than 30 engaging webinars, reaching a diverse audience and impacting countless beneficiaries. Some of the major highlights include:
- Mind-Body Connection facilitated by Senior Psychiatrist Abdirashid Takar.
- Impact of Children on Media and Technology with insights from Dr. Abdikadir, Dr. Fatima Kawir, Dr. Ikram, and Juweria.
- Understanding Mental Health in the Somali Community led by Asia and Dr. Idil.
- Psychological impact of Digital Gender Based Violence led by Asia Hersi
- Role of Media in addressing Digital Gender Based Violence by Abdirashid
These sessions provided valuable insights and fostered important discussions, benefited overall more than 5k people on our regular webinars, reinforcing our commitment to mental health awareness and education within our community.
TRAININGS
We trained different people from community totally 2025 we facilitated 7 trainings including;
1. Effective communication skill
2. Psychosocial support Training at SRCS
3. PFA and psychosocial support training for special need people
4. MHPSS for GBV Survivors at EAU
5. PFA at GSU
6. Staff Mental health training
7. Counseling Training for counselors
WORKSHOPS
In 2025 we hold in 9 workshops including In-person workshop of understanding emotion and problem Management workshop
COURSES
We hosted 7 courses including Grief and loss counseling, OCD course, Psychology of Mental health.
COLLABORATIONS
we collaborated different individuals, organizations, hospitals and coaches including Empower rise hub, SRCS, Coach Murzali, Mudug Specialist Hospital
RAJO PODCAST
Rajo podcast we implemented and uploaded our YouTube channel 15-episodes of Rajo podcast with an amazing audio lecture.
PANEL DISCUSSION
we have such an amazing panel discussions which was
1. YOUTH & MENTAL HEALTH: challenges and solutions. Istar and Nusaiba was a panelist, Asia was a moderator
2. STOPPING GBV BEFORE IT SARTS: how to end violence. Mohamed and Faduma was a panelist, Maryam was moderator.
COUNSELING SESSIONS
in 2025 we have 74 session including new session and followup sessions
MENTAL HEALTH EVENTS
We participate in mental health events by raising awareness, hosting webinars, recording videos, and engaging in community activities.
Here are the events we conduct to achieve these goals.

MEDIA INTERVIEW
Kaaba gives an interview different radio representers including Radio Ergo, Somali Media Association and local and personal radio and TVs.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
We joined different community groups and activities including Galkayo Peace week & Puntland Protection cluster, Galkayo peace makers team & Galkayo youth events.
MENTAL HEALTH CAMPAINGS
1. 500 individual benefited a mental health campaing under the theme of " STOP STIGMA AGAINST MENTAL HEALTH" 4-DAY VIRTUAL WEBINAR CAMPAING.
2. 300 individual benefited a mental health camping facilitated both Offline and Online under the theme of You're not Alone" 2-day In-person and online campaign.
MOST SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS
1. Female Youth Conference: 320 young youth girls benefited this amazing monthly program since we started in MAY 2025 and implemented 8 conference.
2. Let's Unite Hooyo: 80 young mothers benefited this 6-week program and impacted positively to their self and families.
3. Mental health Programs: 100+ individuals benefited this program mainly university students, blessed to have young mental health advocators to our community.
4. Maandhowr Project: Maandhowr has 3 different phases each one It has been ongoing for a maximum of 8 days, with at least 3 days benefiting around 280 people.
RESEARCH DEPARTMENT
We are excited to announce that we are preparing to publish our first research study soon. This is a significant milestone for us, and we are dedicated to ensuring it reflects our best efforts. Our team is actively working in this area, striving to contribute meaningful insights to the field of mental health.
Overall, Kaaba Mental Therapy has positively impacted many individuals who have connected with us, participated in our classes, and received support within the community. We have influenced their lives through various media platforms, or met us in-person or benefited our community projects with over 10,000 participants engaging in our webinars, projects, and courses, as well as supporting us through media. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting our collective efforts and commitment to mental health!. special thanks to everyone who supports us through our journey of community change.
Looking ahead to 2026, we hope to reach every Somali person, no matter where they are.
