Hello, Kaaba Mental Therapy Community!

As we wrap up December, let's take a moment to reflect on the impactful initiatives and events we've accomplished together. This month was dedicated to raising awareness, Increasing community Projects and fostering overall well-being, showcasing our commitment to mental health support and engagement.

Key Achievements for December:

Maandhowr Project (Phase 3)

The Phase 3 of the Maandhowr Project took place over four days at Salaama 1 IDPs camp, in collaboration with the Puntland community's awareness initiatives. The primary aim was to enhance the mental health awareness within the Salaama IDP community.

Project Goals

  • Increase awareness of mental health
  • Educate the community about the importance of mental health
  • Educate the individuals simple steps to manage stress
  • Importance of psychosocial support

  1. Understanding Mental Health
    Date: 15-12-2025
    Description: Explored the fundamentals of mental health, its significance, and common misconceptions.



  2. Stress Management
    Date: 16-12-2025
    Description: Techniques and strategies for effectively managing stress.



  3. Psychosocial Support
    Date: 17-12-2025
    Description: Provided tools to support individuals experiencing psychosocial challenges.



  4. Mental Health Promotion
    Date: 18-12-2025
    Description: Strategies for promoting overall mental well-being within the community.



Impact

  • Beneficiaries: 100+ individuals benefitted directly from the sessions, Special thanks to Abdiqani Jamal for his crucial efforts in implementing this project.

LET'S UNITE HOOYO "LAST SESSION" (05-DEC-2025)

Last session of Hooyo aan Midawno consists sharing experience, closing sessions, Gifts+cake, Buraanbur.



Female Youth Conference: "Build Yourself Before You Build Your Dreams"

  • Participation: 40+ female youth participated.
  • Engagement: The conference featured interactive sessions that fostered engagement and collaboration among participants. Asha Ahmed & Ismahan Abdinasir Facilitated this session.


Webinars

1. The Role of Community in Stigma Reduction Against HIV/AIDS (04-DEC-2025)

This Webinar aims WORLD HIV DAY to increase the awareness of the reducing stigma in people living with HIV, 40 individuals participated this webinar and Dr Fatima Kawir facilitated.


  
2. Educating about Private Parts of Children (11-DEC-2025)

This webinar aims to educate the parents important of educating children their private parts, and recognising not to allow anyone to touch their private parts. 100 individuals participated this amazing webinar, Maryama Ruun facilitated this webinar.



3. Reading and the Importance of Mental Health (18-DEC-2025)

This webinar aims to explore the role of reading in mental health and wellbeing as long as a person reads it may reduce the mental health symptoms and increases the wellness. this webinar 47+ individuals participated and Fatima Gas facilitated the session.




4. Grief- Webinar (25-DEC-2025)

This webinar explored the grief and how to heal, aims to understand the beneficiaries grief feelings and process of grief and how to heal, over 90+ participated this session and Maryam Ibrahim facilitated this amazing webinar.



In-Person Activities: 

"You're the Way You Think" In-person Workshop (26-DEC-2025)

Last session in kaaba both offline and online was this workshop named "you become the way you think" Attendanded 65+ youth girls benefitted from practical activities at Kaaba office. Bushra Mohamed and Kaaba team members facilitated this session.



Counseling Training

  • Duration: 5 days
  • Participants: 20+ mental health activists, social workers, and advocates participated in training sessions aimed at enhancing counseling skills.



Mental Health School Awareness Program (05-DEC-2025)

  • Facilitators: Layla, Samia, Saynab from Kaaba Mental Therapy.
  • Outreach: 500+ students benefitted from awareness sessions, focusing on mental health education within schools.


Conclusion

December we had significantly contributed to mental health awareness in the community, given the participation and positive impact across various initiatives. The collaboration and efforts of many individuals have paved the way for continued success in mental health advocacy.
